How do I book a service?

How far in advance should I book?

Whenever possible, give 48 hours' notice. Last-minute requests are welcome and we'll do our best to fit you in, but popular weekend and overnight slots fill quickly.

Can I cancel or reschedule?

Absolutely. Same-day requests can be cancelled for free. Scheduled services need at least 24 hours' notice, and long stays (3+ nights) need at least 2 days' (48 hours') notice. Inside those windows a fee may apply.

How do I pay, and when?

Payment is due before the booking starts. We confirm the exact amount with you first, then collect before the service begins. We accept cash, card, and most peer-to-peer apps — whatever's easiest for you. A receipt is always provided.

Listed rates are a starting point. Final pricing is set per circumstance — number of pets, visit length, add-ons, travel, and special requests — and we always confirm the exact amount with you before taking payment.

Do you offer recurring bookings?

Yes — weekly dog walks, regular grocery runs, and recurring cleaning are our specialty. Set it up once and we'll handle the rest, with the same trusted person each time.

Sam's Helping Hands is based in Fayetteville, NC and proudly serves the city and surrounding communities — Hope Mills, Eastover, Spring Lake, Stedman, and the Fort Liberty area.

Do you travel outside Fayetteville?

We'll travel up to about 20 miles from Fayetteville at no extra charge. For requests beyond that, just ask — a small travel fee may apply depending on distance.

Can you come onto Fort Liberty?

Yes. Our team is familiar with base access for pet care and household visits. Let us know if a visitor pass is needed and we'll coordinate the details with you.

Which neighborhoods and regions do you currently serve?

We currently serve Fayetteville, NC and the surrounding Cumberland County area. If you're outside this zone, submit a location request and we'll let you know if we can accommodate you and whether a travel fee applies.

Does my pet need to be vaccinated?

For boarding, daycare, and group walks we ask that pets be up to date on core vaccines. Bring your vet records to the meet-and-greet and we'll confirm what's needed for your pet's age and service.

Is a meet & greet required?

Accepted Answer

Yes — a free meet & greet is required before your first booking for any dog service (walking, sitting, boarding, daycare, grooming, training, or pet taxi). It lets us meet your dog, go over routine and care, and confirm temperament and vaccinations. After the first visit, recurring services can be booked without a new meet & greet.

Do you accept pets with medical needs?

Yes. Our team is experienced with medication administration, insulin shots, and special diets. Just share the details before booking so we can plan the right care.

My pet is nervous around others — can you still help?

Accepted Answer

Of course. Solo walks and private drop-in visits are available, and boarding is tailored to shy or senior pets. Tell us about your pet's temperament and we'll match the right approach.

What should I provide for a stay?

Enough food and any medications for the booking, plus a few comfort items — a favorite toy or blanket. We provide the rest, including leashes, bedding, and fresh water.

What if I'm late picking up my pet?

Please be on time for boarding, daycare, and pet-taxi pickups. Late pickups are charged a fee equal to half the per-service rate listed for that service for each late pickup window. If we can't reach you or your emergency contact after reasonable attempts, the pet may be treated as abandoned and transported to a rescue or shelter — so prompt communication matters.

Do my pets need vaccinations or special instructions for a sitter?

We require proof of core vaccinations (rabies, distemper/parvo for dogs; rabies and FVRCP for cats) for all sitters entering a home. If your pet has recent boosters or health records, upload them to your profile before the first booking. Please also provide feeding instructions, medication schedules, and any behavioral notes. If a pet is aggressive or poses a safety risk, we will not proceed without a pre-approved care plan.

Everyone — busy families, seniors living independently, and anyone who'd appreciate an extra set of caring hands. Grocery shopping, transportation, house cleaning, moving help, and yard work are all available.

Are companionship visits one-on-one?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Companionship & Social Support visits are always one-on-one, respectful, and discreet — coffee, a walk, or simply a warm, attentive presence by the hour or half-day.

Do you provide your own cleaning supplies?
